Playing the drums requires two things, passion and motivation. Everything else comes from practice and hard work in my experience. So if you want to learn how to play the drums, get ready to work hard, sweat, and have some fun!
I have been teaching private lessons for the past five years; but before I started teaching, I took lessons from several incredible drummers including David Demeter, Peter Gregory, Todd Reid, and Gregg Bissonette. While studying with these extremely talented musicians I was able to see how they teach, combine the best aspects of their methods, and develop my own teaching style that I have continued to sharpen over the past five years.
I base my teaching style and method around each students individual needs. Everyone learns differently, which means they need to be taught differently; acknowledging this makes lessons more productive, educational, and most importantly more fun. By shaping my teaching style around each student, I can cover rudiments, coordination, different techniques, and songs in an effective and exciting manner.
